remote oil filter

remote oil filter
Due to space restrictions, I have to replace the oil filter canister and relocate the filter. However, I have A couple questions before buying a remote filter adapter and installing it. First, the two holes from the block where the oil comes and goes to/from the filter, which is which?. Does the oil come out of the engine through the top hole or bottom hole?. Also, bypass vs non-bypass filter adaptor. Which would be preferred and why? I know that will have to give up the oil cooler (unless I plumb in a different one) but don't know how necessary it is on such a small engine with decent oil capacity. Any other thought and suggestions would be much appreciated. Thanks
