Default ignition switch removal.

I don't have a book, I don't know how to do this. Do I need to remove the front of the dash? It appears I need to push in the pin and spin the whole unit.....the dash is not allowing me to turn it all the way, got it moving a bit! Am I doing this correctly?

Thanks,

Alright, removal successful.....kind of. I got it out. Problem is I did'nt notice that the wiring harness was going to the back of the switch until I got it loose. I could'nt remove it without removing the harness so in trying to remove it, I poped the cover off instead of just pulling the harness off the switch. After doing that and the wires came loose from their correct positions....I need to figure out which wires goto what number on the harness! Can anyone help me out with this? much appreciated!

also, with the switch, when I crank it to start, is it suppose to pop back over into the last position? Or is position one just glow plugs, and position 2 is start and it stays right there? It does'nt pop back? I bought the car with it not turning off with the switch and just found a disconnected line for the shut off valve and I think that may have been the only problem now.

A)You have acc. position (radio)
B)You have another stop where the gps lightup along w/ all electrics (dash)
C)You have one more step where the starter is engaged. This portion is spring loaded so the key should go back to (B) once the key is released.

The ignition will go into position (C) one time only for each pass thru (A)
