97 E300D not starting/ fuel rack not moving
My 97 E300D isn’t starting. I started a thread on a different fourm but I thought I would try a second fourm to see if anyone had a different outlook at my problem. So the problem has come down to the fuel rack is not moving during start/crank. The fuel rack moves forward and backward when the key is turned to the “on” position but after that it moves to the off position. If I manually move the fuel rack when the engine is being cranked, I get fuel shooting out of the IP like it should. I’m not getting any red/green LED flashing. I also replaced the crank position sensor (don’t see any rpm feedback when cranking the engine over?). I read the engine codes and had one for “open injector circuit”, but I think that is due to having the intake off the car right now. I replaced the K40 relay module with no change. Did some measurements with my ohm meter:
Disconnected the x1 (on the schematic) connector and ohm’ed out to the ECU and k40, they were all good. Ohm’ing the x1 connector to the injector pump I get.
Pin 6 -7 = 19.5 ohm
Pint 6 -1 = 19.6 ohm
Pin 2 -3 = .7 ohm
While ohm’ing pins 6-7 I would move the fuel rack and would see a flicker on it’s ohm readings but mostly would not change from the 19.5 ohms. Pins 6-1 and 2-3 was real stable and didn’t jump around when moving the fuel rack. Does this sound normal?
