Default 82 300D lost brake booster

Help, I was driving to work and all of a sudden, NO BRAKES! Stopped & checked the master cylinder & it was ok. Engine would not turn off so I checked all the vacuum lines, all were attached. Other than the vacuum pump, what could be the problem?
Thanks for everyones help.

Hi just went through that very problem. First unhook the brake booster line from the vacuum pump and check for suckion, If none your vacuum pump is probably not working. Here is what I did to get mine working. Take the top of the pump off (while still on the car) and check the diafram. Mine had 3 holes in it, I replaced it, cleaned the check valves and everything started to work. Only cost me $40 and about 1 1/2 hours. Good luck!!

Thanks for the info. It appears my vacuum pump has quit,no vacuum at all; but I can't find a diaphram for it. The M-B kit has seals etc. only. Can you help?
