Color wearing off

Default Color wearing off
My '98 low-mileage SLK, which I bought new, still looks almost new. But the gray color on the center console and armrests is wearing off and showing the black color underneath. Is there some way to restore the gray color, or am I screwed?

my suggest do not paint it. use vinyl would be better.
