The Link goes to a dead page. I'm not sure what your point is here. Are you saying we should not buy an SL65? How valid is the source of the info? Anyone can start a Geocities Website.

The SL55 will be discountinued in a year or so, but its not because of the introduction to SL65.
Mercedes is now changing the design of its engines back to DOHC again.
And the current 55 kompressor engnie will be replaced by a 6+ litre (6.3L i think) V8 DOHC.

That worked, thanks.

So, Horsepower wants to keep the SL55 for its collector car potential, not because the SL65 is a poor replacement.

MioCLK,
The link works fine...just delete the https://mercedesforum.com/ which gets somewhow attached via script here in front of the link (bug of this forum).

Yes Lugnut, you're right everybody can create a geocity page but the arguments sound logical to me. I'll keep my SL55 since I really like this car and in Pennsylvania 493 horsepower is enough to get fast to the 55 miles limits.....

Regards,
Horsepower

You make weirdsense, Grasshopper ... I mean Horsepower.

200 hp will take you 55 mph fast, too. 493 hp much faster, yes. But ... hey.

Why do you buy the road rockets if you're not going to go faster than 55 mph? Have you really reached your personal speed limit?

there are no 6.3l engine and that cannot replace the 5.5l and the 6l kompressor engine's power.[:'(]
