12-digit code problem pairing to bluetooth
I've got a pre facelift W203 C-Class (2003). I've just bought the V1 SAP Bluetooth phone unit - the one with the handset. When using it with a sim card installed to the handset - it works okay with the Audio 10 CD unit. Incoming calls are fine, but I can only make outgoing calls to numbers programmed to the sim card as there is no numberpad facility on either the handset or the Audio 10 unit. I can live with that I suppose. BUT, I would rather operate the handset using bluetooth to connect to one of my mobile phones. I have a Nokia 6230 and 6230i (both of which are listed on the compatibility list. I also have an HTC TYTN smart phone ... which isn't on the list, but I see from the forums that it should also work.
Here's the problem. During the bluetooth pairing process, the instrument cluster on my W203 reports a 16-digit pairing code. Well, at least it is supposed to. It actually only shows 12 digits as it only has a 12-digit display. It's the same with the Audio 20 CD unit - but it apparently has a 'clear' button, which allows you to see the last four digits.
Has anyone ever got around this problem. Any suggestions?[/align]

RE: 12-digit code problem pairing to bluetooth
Have been through the same nightmare to set up my nokia 6300. I have a clk55 amg 2005 facelift and spent hours getting it working but must admit it works well now. You need to read the merc manual in conjunction with the bluetooth instructions and bear in mind you are pairing 3 devices not 2, the phone, bluetooth unit and command system. I am lucky that my command displayed all the 16 digit code and it searched and found both the bluetooth unit & the phone, I thinkyou have a time limit to enter the16 digit code(20 seconds or so) and it accepted and paired all 3 the devices, hope this helps it is fiddley...
