Im looking at a white 1998 C230 (white) with 82,000 miles, good condition</P>


I know the owner and the car has been well taken car of. Everything on the car is fully functional except the cruise control which doesnt work at all. Its got a good $200 pioneer head unit.</P>


How much should i offer for this car?</P>

 

very little because if the cruise doesn't work it's usually a sign that the throttle acuator needs to be replaced. Be very wary!!

 

Correct spelling would be throttle actuator, oops

 

i know it drives well as of now but how much would a throttle actuator cost/ how hard would it be to insall on the car?

well I'm not 100% sure that's the problem but if it is they usually run about a thousand bucks. ouch....If the throttle actuator has a problem with it than it will put out a code. Have the codes read before you buy it to determine what's causing the cruise not to work. I would add that as part of the purchasing deal.....
