Default tires

I have Pilot Sport PS2 on my car ('02 clk 430). I researched them on tirerack.com...everyone seems to love them. I am what you would call a "spirited" driver, so I was really scared that my tires would wear quick. The front tires are wearing on the outer edge. Is this from my hard cornering, an alignment problem, or the tire. Can anyone tell me what they think and what tires they recommend?

Cornering is the first guess. I keep all my car tires in the upper limits of pressure and edges are always the first to go.
Even on fixed rear axles.

Those tires are very soft and sticky, as are all high-performance tires. The PS2s are excellent tires but they are very sensitive to air pressure, balancing, and wheel alignment. Check air pressure often. They should be rotated and balanced about every 5K miles. They're unidirectional, so watch that if you DIY. Have alignment checked--it doesn't cost that much.

High performance tires don't last very many miles, comparatively. For the pleasure of not sliding off the road into a tree, you sacrifice long wear.

Keep your tires at 41-44psi. This will increase the wear in the center. The ride might be little harder, nevertheless, you will avoid outer tire wear...
