Default balancing carbs and vacuum

Hi everybody,

I noticed that the way to balance the carbs was to use some kind of hood (that I can't find) and balance them individually. I've ballanced 4 motorcycle carburators (1/cyl) with a sync stick (now broken)

Has anybody tried balancing the carbs with clear hose and a bucket of water / fluid? Any tips tricks? any other ideas?

Also I was wondering if anybody knew what the correct value of the vacuum should be? right now I'm at about 10 but I have had it as high as 15.

Thanks

Geprge
