Dealership says entire Brake Light Assembly needs replacement due to failed brake light LED array/circuit board. It seems insane to have to replace entire assembly, when just the LED array needs replacement. Is it possible to replace just LED array, or is the dealership correct. Where is the best place to get either replacement Brake Light Assembly or just LED array/circuit board?
Thanks.

Model S Class w220?

If so the LED circuit board can be replaced easily. If it is not availoable as a spare part from MB on its own then you can get from breakers etc. Usual problem with rear clusters is a broken lens.

Wheredo you live. I have a w220 LED board (working). LH or RH? Offers?

Stuart.

Do not see broken lens. Assembly part number is 220 820 02 64, and is "passenger side". Am in Southlake, Texas.

You misunderstand. I didn't mean your lens was broken..just that if you go to a breakers you will likely find a perfect assembly or at least one with a broken lens that you can remove the LED circuit board from.

I don't have access to Pt Nos. so I assume you are looking for a w220 RH Stop Light circuit board since you are in the States.
Is the MB number you quote on the lens / cluster body or LED circuit board?

PM me if you wish to make an offer. NB. I'm in the UK.

I beleive I understand...is it possible to locate the LED with broken lens and by-pass or replace?

I believe you still misunderstand me. Must be my fault so I'll have another go.

Get the LED circuit board you require from a breakers yard, if you are unable to buy one from MB.

If you would like to make me an offer for the LED circuit board you require, I have one and could eBay it. If so PM me.

OK?

Stuart.
