oil change help

can it be drained from the oil pan or does it need
to be pumped out? i got a 1000 diff. answers so i am confused. is there a plug in the oil pan?
also how many quarts do i need. for a 2000 s500.
is mobil one 5w30 ok to use. not sure what grade is in there right now.

you'll need about 8 quarts, I think. I have an S420, and I put that many in mine...also, you might have to remove the plastic pieces underneath the car to locate that oil pan nut...that's what I have to do...but just remove one plastic piece, I believe. You might wanna ask Sleepwalker for more info on your car...he's one of the most knowledgeable guys on here...

thanks for the help. i removed that front plastic piece and found the nut.
i checked the manual it says 8.5 quarts. i used 5w40 so i should be ok.
i also replaced the belt, that was easy. next week i got the fuel filter and air filters.
why is everybody talking about pumping the oil out of the dip stick for
if there is drain in the oil pan?
